Halloween Events Guide for Ghoulishly Good Times in State College Area
Centre County’s Trick-or-Treat night will be Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m. The following events are also designed and open to the public to celebrate the spooky holiday.
Oct. 27: Penn State Forensic Science Club’s Haunted Houses, 8 p.m. to 11, Spruce and Pine Cottages, University Park. This year’s theme is Haunted Prison. Cost is $4.99 a person with T-shirts for sale for $12.

Oct. 26-27: Shaver’s Creek Fall Festival, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Petersburg. Celebrate fall harvest by pumpkin carving and face painting while enjoying music, entertainment, activities, natural history programs and great food at this free family event. There will be a Children’s Halloween Trail as well, which is free for children 3 and under and $5 for ages 4 and older. Community members can also participate in the Harvest Baking Challenge by making and entering desserts with a fall theme into the contest. Oct. 27: Safe and Seen in the Ballpark, 4 p.m. to 6, Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. This free event is sponsored by the State College Spikes, Centre LifeLink EMS and B94.5. Oct. 27: 2013 Halloween Costume Parade, 7 p.m., State College. Starting at the corner of North Burrows Street and West College Avenue, community members are invited to participate in or watch this annual family-fun event. Costume judging will take place at Memorial Field by the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity.
Oct. 27: 5th annual Greek-or-Treat, 3 p.m. to 5, Fraternity Row and Fairmount Avenue in State College. Join Penn State’s fraternities and sororities for Halloween-themed food, games, music and prizes. There will also be a pet costume contest. Email email@example.com.
