Harmony Connects Students With And Without Special Needs Through Performance

by on December 04, 2018 10:29 AM

Haley Smith is a 19-year-old Penn State student, and besides going to school, she works at a commons desk on campus and spends a lot of time with her dad, Penn State football assistant coach Terry Smith, having fun at football games.

Now thanks to Harmony, a Penn State performing arts club, she can add performing to her list of activities.

Harmony is made up of individuals ranging from ages 4 to 42 , combined with a group of volunteers, and allows students with and without special needs an opportunity to socialize, build confidence and perform.

Centre County Report's Brianna Wright follows Smith through her involvement with the organization.
