How the Bryce Jordan Center Transforms for THON Weekend

by on February 15, 2019 12:00 PM

Year-round fundraising and family support by the world's largest student philanthropy culminates this weekend with the 46 hours of THON at the Bryce Jordan Center.

It's all to benefit the Four Diamonds at Penn State Hershey Children's hospital. Since its inception, THON has raised more than $150 million for the fight against pediatric cancer.

Though the event is 46 years old, this is THON's 12th year in the Jordan Center, Penn State's largest indoor venue, where thousands will visit throughout the weekend, from 6 p.m. on Friday to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Centre County Report's Amanda Mitchell takes an inside look at how THON student volunteers and BJC staff transform the arena for the annual Dance Marathon.

The Centre County Report is produced by students and faculty from Penn State's College of Communications. It is designed to serve a dual purpose. It is a source of news and information to the residents of Centre County.
