by on November 27, 2013 7:30 AM

Thanksgiving travelers still face the threat of hazardous road conditions Wednesday, one day after the State College area was socked with a triple whammy of ice, freezing rain and snow.

Today is considered one of the busiest travel days of the year and the National Weather Service says isolated icy patches are possible across our region.

Temperatures will be just a few degrees above freezing this morning. Little to no additional accumulations of snow are expected. However, people heading to the south, east and north may encounter bad weather, including flooding, ice and snow.

Winds are expected to pick up through the day and that could lead to power outages in areas where trees and electric lines are weighed down by snow and ice.

According to West Penn Power's website, More than 4,700 customers have no power in Centre County this morning. That number includes scattered power outages in the State College area.

West Penn Power says 286 customers are in the dark in Boalsburg. Also without power are 68 customers in College Township, 10 in Ferguson Township, 54 in Patton Township and 45 in State College Borough.
