Citing the state's rules of criminal procedure, counsel for Jerry Sandusky filed a motion in Centre County Court on Thursday petitioning for the release of his $50,000 cash bail his wife, Dottie, posted the day he was arrested.
He is also asking the court to release his property at 130 Grandview Road in State College, as it was used as collateral worth $200,000. Dottie wrote a check for $50,000 to make the $250,000 bail.
Sandusky posted bail on Dec. 8 and returned home after being charged with 12 more counts in connection with the then-allegations of child sexual abuse, bringing the total to 52 counts.
Prosecutors requested the judge set bail at $1 million.
Sandusky was convicted on June 22 on 45 of 48 counts of sexually abusing 10 boys over a 15-year period. He will be sentenced on Tuesday, immediately following a 9 a.m. hearing in Bellefonte to determine whether he will be labeled a sexually violent predator.
