Judge Signs 31 Activists' Charges

According to the Daily Collegian, District Judge Jonathan Grine formally signed 31 criminal complaints of defiant trespass yesterday in connection with a sit-in at Old Man two weeks ago.

31 anti-sweathop protesters were arrested by Penn State Police after they refused to leave Old Main when it closed at 5:30 p.m. on April 15th.  The protesters were hoping that Penn State President Graham Spanier would sign the Designated Suppliers Program, an anti-sweatshop labor program.

Each charge carries a $2,500 fine or a year in jail.  (Read More)
