Labor Day Weather May Turn Nasty: Severe Thunderstorm Watch Posted

Update: 7:25 p.m. A strong thunderstorm is moving through the State College area.

Wind gusts up to 40 miles per hour and small hail are possible with this storm.

You may want to get your Labor Day cookouts and parties wrapped up a little early.

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Centre County and most of central Pennsylvania.

A 16 county area will be under the Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 10 p.m. Monday.

That means large hail is possible along with wind gusts up to 65 miles per hour.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are are favorable for powerful storms. Be sure to monitor weather conditions.
