League of Women Voters Candidates' Nights Set

Voters will have the opportunity to ask questions of candidates in local races for November's election at the League of Women Voters of Centre County's upcoming Candidates' Nights.

The forums are set for two nights, Thursday (Oct. 12) and Wednesday, Oct. 18. Both events will begin at 7 p.m. in Borough Council Chambers at the State College Municipal Building, 243 S. Allen St.

Candidates will have the opportunity to answer questions submitted by audience members. 

Expected to attend are candidates in these races:

Thursday, Oct. 12

  • Centre County Judge of the Court of Common Pleas

  • Bellefonte Borough Council

  • Bellefonte Area Board of School Directors

Wednesday, Oct. 18

 

  • Magisterial District Judge (District 49-02-01)

  • State College Borough Mayor

  • State College Borough Council

  • Harris Township Board of Supervisors

  • Patton Township Board of Supervisors

  • State College Area Board of School Directors

  • Ferguson Township Board of Supervisors

 

Candidates' Nights are open to the public. Both nights will be recorded by C-NET and available to view online at cnet1.org within 24 hours of the event. They also will air on C-NET (channel 7) at the following dates and times:

Candidates' Night 1 

Sunday, Oct. 15 at 11:00 a.m. 

 Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 8:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 5 a.m.

Saturday, Oct. 21 at 4 p.m.

Candidates' Night 2

 

Friday, Oct. 20 at 2 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 21 at noon

Sunday, Oct. 22 at 8 p.m.

Monday, Oct. 23 at 5 a.m.

 

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization that encourages informed and active participation of citizens in government and influences public policy through education and advocacy. Membership is open to men and women, and members of the local league are automatically members of both the state and national League of Women Voters.
