Light Snow in State College Weekend Forecast

by on February 08, 2014 7:00 AM

The State College area is not expected to see any major snowfall this weekend, though a flurry to a coating is likely.

"This weekend will be on chilly side with a couple of opportunities for light snow, but no big storms are forecasted for this weekend," says AccuWeather Meteorologist Erik Pindrock.

For Saturday, it will be mostly cloudy with a chance of flurries or light snow in the afternoon or evening hours. The high will be about 26. The low about 19.

For Sunday, it will be mostly cloudy again with flurries or light snow possible. A coating to 1 inch is possible.

"But we're not expexting anything too big," Pindrock says.

Sunday's high will be about 31 with a low around 17.

Monday it will turn colder with mix of clouds and sun, and a high of 24.

Around Wednesday into Thursday, there is potential for a coastal storm that could bring some rain or snow to the east coast. However, it may be too far east to impact State College.

"We'll watch it over the next several day to see what happens," Pindrock says.
