James Franklin’s Class of 2015 notched commit No. 17 this evening, as three-star linebacker Manny Bowen of New Jersey announced his commitment to Penn State on Twitter.

The 6-foot-2, 202-pound Bowen had offers from Alabama, Miami, Oklahoma, Florida, Oregon, Notre Dame, Michigan State, and other big time programs. A product of Barneget High School, he’s the 34th-ranked linebacker in the nation and the 12th-ranked from New Jersey.

Bowen’s commitment puts Penn State as the 4th ranked 2015 class per Rivals 247. He joins Jake Cooper as the second linebacker in the incoming class at Linebacker U. It was a big recruiting weekend for Penn State, as several prospects visited Happy Valley for unofficial visits and a football camp.
