Local Boy Scout Pack Takes Part in Pinewood Derby
With handcrafted cars at its side, Pack 31 took St. Paul's United Methodist Church by storm as part of the annual Pinewood Derby.
Starting with only a block of wood, scouts crafted their cars to be the fastest, or the slowest, that they could possibly be. Racers were timed using electronic equipment that was able to break down even the closest races to fractions of a second.
Cars were limited to certain weight restrictions as scouts learned to harness the powers of gravity and aerodynamics all while having fun at the same time.
