A man died shortly after being found unresponsive in his motel room on Saturday.

Police say they responded to a call from the Imperial Motor Inn on Atherton Street at about 10:45 a.m. A 41-year-old man, whose name has not been released, was found unconscious in his room at the motel.

After emergency workers perperformed CPR, the man was pronounced dead at the motel. Police say there was no evidence of criminal activity, and it’s possible the death came from natural causes.

Police say the man had been given a room at the motel in exchange for maintenance work, making him essentially a resident rather than a guest.
