Man Pleads Guilty to Prowling Outside Teens Bedroom and Assaulting Police Officer
A man caught lurking outside a teenager's bedroom window and then fighting with police is now facing a long prison sentence.
Prosecutors say Dirk Millmore pleaded guilty in Centre County court Monday to several charges, including aggravated assault, indecent exposure and prowling.
Those charges followed an incident on March 12th outside a home on McKee Street in State College. A neighbor called police at approximately 8:30 p.m. to report a suspicious man.
Prosecutors claim Millmore, 61, of Williamsburg, PA, was masturbating outside the window of a 13-year-old girl. A State College police officer found Millmore hiding in the bushes, prompting Millmore to run away. When the officer caught up with him, Millmore swung a two-by-four at the officer's head, narrowly missing the officer.
Other officers raced in and subdued Millmore.
The 13-year-old girl told police she had seen camera flashes outside her window on other occasions in the weeks before to Millmore's arrest.
Millmore has had prior run-ins with the law with earlier convictions for burglary and aggravated assault.
District Attorney, Stacy Parks Miller calls Millmore's actions "highly disturbing." "We should rest better knowing ... that this defendant will no longer prowl and peep in windows," she said in a news release.
Millmore will be sentenced on January 7th, 2014. As a result of a plea deal he'll spend three to 10 years in state prison.
