A man was air lifted to Altoona Regional Health System Trauma Center after being struck by a car early Thursday morning.
It happened at about 1:50 a.m. State College police say the victim was hit at the corner of South Atherton Street and West Fairmount Avenue. The man reportedly stepped onto the road just as the car was passing him.
When police arrived, they found the man bleeding from his head, but conscious. However, the man was not able to speak.
The man was first taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center, but was eventually sent to Altoona Trauma to be treated for his head wound.
