on January 10, 2011 10:50 AM

A Patton Township woman discovered and confronted a masked intruder shortly after midnight Friday in her apartment near Vairo Boulevard, municipal police said.

They said it happened about 12:30 a.m. on Fernwood Court, just off the boulevard. According to a police report, the intruder quickly left the home after the woman confronted him, "but not before grabbing the resident inappropriately."

Police said the intruder is described as a tall man with brown eyes. He was wearing a dark hooded jacket, a ski mask and gray Penn State sweatpants, according to the description. The ski mask was dark and had holes cut for the eyes and mouth, police said. They said the man may be Asian.

"The suspect may have been loitering in the vicinity of the Vairo Village laundromat just prior to the incident," according to a news release. Police are asking anyone with information to call them at (814) 234-0273.
