Most Grass Parking Lots to Be Closed for Penn State-Wisconsin Game

by on November 05, 2018 8:15 PM

Historic rainfall throughout the summer and fall has resulted in significant damage to grass parking lots around Beaver Stadium, and the majority of them now will be closed for the Penn State-Wisconsin game on Saturday.

The school had already discontinued last week the sale of gameday parking passes for the Nov. 10  game.

Penn State Athletics said in a news release on Monday that the closure is for fan safety, to prevent further damage to intramural and agricultural fields and to prevent damage to vehicles. Shuttle routes will be available to and from some off-campus lots and will run starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, continuing until one hour after the game. A color and route number have been established for each shuttle route and fans will receive a wristband that corresponds with their shuttle.

The ORV and Pink lots and a portion of the reserved Stadium North (Green) lot are the only grass lots that will be available for the Wisconsin game. Fans who normally park in paved lots will be unaffected

Anyone with a yellow permit will not be allowed to park in lots near Beaver Stadium or in any campus parking lots and are asked to park in one of the lots below. Fans who still need gameday parking should park in a downtown parking lot/deck or park at Grange Park and take a shuttle.

Those with Stadium North green permits numbered 1-399 will need to use the alternative parking options listed below as well.

Fans are asked to avoid bringing an RV to the game, unless the RV parking is on pavement or in the ORV lot. Penn State also is urging fans to carpool when possible.

"Fans who have a Wisconsin parking permit for all closed grass lots should utilize the below parking alternatives and walk or take a shuttle," the release said. "All lots will open at 7 a.m. and all alternative lots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to lot capacity restrictions, permits for the alternative parking locations will be restricted to the options listed below or off-campus locations."

Updated shuttle and parking information will be posted prior to the game at
