New Construction Slowing Route 322 Traffic

by on June 19, 2014 6:15 AM

Getting to and from State College may take a bit longer in the coming weeks.

PennDot is warning drivers to expect delays on a stretch of Route 322 between Boalsburg and Potters Mills.

Only one lane is getting through at a time and flaggers are directing traffic.

That's because repair crews are renovating a bridge that spans Sinking Creek. The construction area is located just a few dozen yards from the SPCA shelter.

A 10-foot width restriction will be in effect until Aug. 21.

Message boards will warn motorists about restrictions and potential delays. During the day Wednesday there appeared to be about a five minute wait to get through the construction zone but it could be longer during peak travel times.

PennDot is warning everyone to be alert for those flaggers and to obey posted speed limits.
