Nine Die In Holiday Crashes

Nine people were killed on Pennsylvania’s highways over the five-day Thanksgiving holiday driving period.

According to state police, several of the nine victims were not wearing their seatbelts. Four of the victims died in alcohol-related crashed. Another 320 people were injured. In all, State Police investigated more than 1,000 crashes.

The Thanksgiving holiday driving period ran from November 26th through December 30th. A state police spokesperson says the numbers for this year were nearly identical to the numbers released during the same period in 2007.
