A former Penn State student charged with sexually assaulting a female student in Redifer Commons this spring agreed to a plea deal.  The plea deal could result in a four-year probationary sentence.

According to the Daily Collegian, Gary Patterson, 19, pleaded guilty to indecent assault, a second-degree misdemeanor.  Patterson's charges stem from an incident in April when he and a male juvenile had sex with an intoxicated female student in a bathroom at Redifer Commons.

Patterson was a student at the Penn State Beaver campus when the assault occurred.  He was originally charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, indecent exposure, and criminal conspiracy.

After the incident, a Penn State Police officer found the female student wearing nothing but a shirt in a computer lab at Redifer Commons.  Her blood-alcohol content registered at .32.  (Read More)
