When Patton Township Police officers arrested Reynard Cook on Friday the charges weren't especially serious -- until the case took an unexpected turn. Cook was picked up for providing false identification and disorderly conduct. But a fingerprint check revealed was wanted for murder in Washington, DC.

Cook, who has reportedly been on the run for a year, was taken to the Centre County Correctional Facility. He's being held on $10,000 bail. The murder suspect had been featured in an episode of "America's Most Wanted," a popular TV show on Fox.

Police said Cook was wanted for the homicide of a woman in Washington, DC in 2012. DC Police responded to a call on Feb. 15, 2012, and found a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was rushed to the hospital, but 30-year-old Yolanda Stone died on May 20, 2012.

Cook, who also goes by "Reyvon Stone," "Don Fitzgerald Hancock," and "Demarko Brown," was identified by police as a suspect.

Cook has a preliminary hearing for his false identification and disorderly conduct charges on Wednesday at the Centre County Courthouse in Bellefonte.
