Penn State Basketball: Frazier Makes It Past 200 Career NBA Games, How That Stacks Up To Other Nittany Lions

by on December 13, 2018 2:00 PM

Former Nittany Lion guard Tim Frazier recently played in his 200th career NBA games with 207 to his name after a Wednesday night victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Frazier recorded a six point, nine rebound and nine assist night for the New Orlean Pelicans in the late win. The Houston native is in his fourth season in the league after going undrafted during the 2014 selection process.

So far during his career Frazier has suited up for four different NBA teams in the regular season but has spent the majority of his career so far in New Orleans as well as Portland. His longest single-season stint was last year in DC.

How does his longevity stack up to other Penn State players to make it into the league? Pretty well in fact, according to RealGM, just 11 other former Nittany Lions have played in the NBA with Bob Weiss playing 783 games starting in 1965.

It stands to reason Frazier's career might not be quite as long as Weiss', but he's within reach of a few other notable Nittany Lions if he can continue to see the court this season and beyond.

Bob Weiss SG 6-2 180 1965 BUF, CHI, MIL, PHL, SEA, WAS 12 783 7.65

Frank Brickowski PF 6-9 240 1981 BOS, CHA, LAL, MIL, SAN, SEA 13 731 9.99

Calvin Booth C 6-11 230 1999 DAL, MIL, MIN, PHL, SAC, SEA, WAS 10 366 3.25

John Amaechi C 6-10 270 1995 CLE, ORL, UTH 6 294 6.25

Tim Frazier G 6-0 172 2014 NOP, PHL, POR, WAS 4 207 5.09

Mike Iuzzolino G 5-10 180 1991 DAL 4 122 8.98

Herschel Baltimore G/F 6-4 195 N/A STB 1 58 2.38

John Barr G 6-3 205 N/A STB 1 58 5.09

Jesse Arnelle F 6-5 225 1955 FWP 1 31 4.74

Joe Crispin G 6-0 185 2001 LAL, PHX 3 21 3.76

Chris Babb G 6-5 225 2013 BOS 2 14 1.57

Tom Hovasse F 6-8 205 1989 ATL 1 2 0.00

Frazier might have work left to do to catch the likes of Weiss and Brickowski, but if he can continue his near triple-double outings like the one he had one Wednesday night, there's no reason Frazier can't see the floor for many more seasons to come.

Assists like this sure will help.
