The Penn State men's basketball team will begin a home-and-home series with George Washington by hosting the Colonials in 2014-15, Nittany Lion head coach Patrick Chambers announced Monday.

GW will open the series at the Bryce Jordan Center Dec. 14, 2014 with a return date at the Charles E. Smith Center to be determined for the 2015-16 campaign.

"We are excited to have a NCAA tournament team in George Washington coming to Happy Valley this upcoming season," Chambers said. Coach Lonergan has done a great job, and their style of play will help us prepare for conference play."

The Colonials posted the second-most wins in program history with 24 in 2013-14 and made their first NCAA tournament appearance since 2007. GW finished the regular season with the third-seed in the conference and advanced to the A-10 Championship semifinals.

Penn State is 111-77 all-time against teams in the current Atlantic 10 Conference, following a 68-59 win over Duquesne Dec. 11 last season in the CONSOL Energy Center. The Nittany Lions were a member of the A-10 in 1976-1979 and 1982-91.
