Penn State Basketball: Nittany Lions Round Out European Trip with Victory
Penn State men's basketball bounced back from a six point loss for a 95-53 victory over Binnenland on Thursday night at De Driesprong to cap its European tour 2-1. D.J. Newbill lead the Nittany Lions with 24 points after missing most of the previous game with an stomach illness.
Freshman Payton Banks also had a strong game for Penn State, scoring 15 joining Newbill and forwards Brandon Taylor and Ross Travis in double figures. Taylor and Travis both chipped in 11 points respectively with Donovon Jack and freshman Geno Thorpe contributing 15 combined points.
Returning fifth year senior Tim Frazier saw limited action only scoring one basket. Frazier only played in the first half of Thursday's game.
Penn State's defense was able to hold Driesprong to under 15 points per quarter and no player for the European side scored in double figures on the day.
