Living up to his promise, Pat Chambers stood behind the counter Wednesday afternoon handing out Big Macs to the first 200 fans who showed up to the East College Avenue McDonald's.
The unexpected show of charity came in response to the Nittany Lions' 67-51 victory over Nebraska last Saturday when Chambers had the Lions hold back in the final minutes rather than go for 70 points. A year-long promotion at basketball games states that if the Nittany Lions score 70 or more points in a game, all those in attendance receive free Big Macs.
As each fan took advantage of the free meal, Chambers introduced himself and reminded everyone of the Nittany Lions' upcoming game Thursday night against Iowa.
"Make the Jordan Center your home tomorrow night," Chambers said. "We'd love to have your support."
