A number of issues are on the agenda, including a proposal to ask the state for a $299,685,000 appropriation for 2014. The board is also considering the installation of surveillance cameras in Penn State residence halls and a number of construction projects.
The full board will meet in Dean's Hall at the Penn Stater on Friday.
Also on Friday, a March for Truth protest will be held by people who want the board to reject the Freeh Report and the NCAA sanctions imposed on the football team. The group's website says the protest is being held, "To show the Penn State Board of Trustees that PSU alumni, faculty, students, and fans are not moving forward until the truth is known and acknowledged."
Many people are still upset with the way Joe Paterno was let go. The former football coach's son, Scott Paterno, has released a letter supporting the March for Truth. He says, "The March4Truth is the latest example of this community seeking answers from people unwilling to provide them. We applaud this effort and hope the Board will see it as further proof that the just course is also the correct course."
