Penn State Board of Trustees Schedules More 'Special' Meetings for Weekend
The Penn State Board of Trustees will convene for a weekend of special meetings at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel on Saturday and Sunday.
The board released the weekend's agenda on its website on Monday. Details are currently few, but seminars convene at 3 p.m. Saturday and resume at 9 a.m. Sunday, with a pending adjournment at 2 p.m.
At the board's last special meeting, called Aug. 12, members met via teleconference. Though they made no motion or vote, each member was given the opportunity to voice his or her opinion on Penn State President Rodney Erickson's decision to sign the binding NCAA consent decree that dealt Penn State its sanctions.
Erickson was commended for making the tough decision to sign the contract, though trustee Ryan McCombie said through his lawyer after the meeting he will continue to pursue his appeal of the sanctions.
The board's next regularly scheduled meeting is Sept. 14 at the Nittany Lion Inn.
All events this weekend will be held in Room 207 of the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel, 215 Innovation Park Blvd.
