Penn State Football: 2018 Class Adds Texas Cornerback

Penn State football's 2018 recruiting class continued to grow on Wednesday morning as three-star cornerback Trent Gordon announced his commitment. The Manvel, Texas native is James Franklin’s 12th commit and first cornerback for this cycle.

According to the 247Network, Gordon is the No. 37 cornerback in the nation and No. 58 recruit in Texas.

On Monday Gordon announced his top ten teams ahead of Wednesday's news. Penn State made the cut in addition to Michigan, Florida, LSU, and semi-local school Texas A&M.

Earlier in the month, he took an unofficial visit to Happy Valley in the middle of road trip up north where he visited five schools in five days — traveling to see Tennessee, West Virginia, Ohio State, and Michigan along the way.

Gordon is the second commitment from Texas to head east as he joins Isaiah Humphries on the commitment list. Penn State's 2018 recruiting class is currently rate the nation's second best.

On the scales Gordon comes in at 5-foot-11 and 172 pounds. During his junior year Gordon recorded two interceptions, 81 tackles, and 10 pass deflections before falling in the state quarterfinals.
