If you're into planning very far ahead, Penn State has good news for your calendar.

Announced late on Wednesday, Penn State formally penned in the 2016 edition of the annual Blue-White football game for Saturday, April 16, 2016 in Beaver Stadium.

The intra-squad scrimmage is tentatively scheduled to kick in the early to mid afternoon. More details about Blue-White Game and related events will be announced after the 2015 regular season.

In this year's edition, the Nittany Lions concluded spring practice on April 18, with an estimated 68,000 fans attending the Blue-White game, the nation’s third-largest spring football crowd this year. Ohio State led the way nationally with just over 100,000 fans. Nebraska was No. 2 with more than 76,000, just ahead of Penn State. Half of the Top 10 attendance marks for spring games this year were Big Ten programs.

The Blue-White game has become a staple of spring football in Happy Valley and one of the highest attended scrimmages in the nation. The game has drawn more than 50,000 fans in seven of the past nine years, including four crowds above 70,000.

In the more immediate future, Penn State will turn its focus to the Coaches Caravan, a 12 stop event across the region with head and assistant coaches talking about the athletic department and their respective sports programs.

The tour kicks off on Tuesday with stops in Harrisburg and Lancaster.
