Penn State Football: Defensive Tackle To Miss Remainder Of Season

by on October 16, 2018 12:33 PM

Penn State defensive tackle Fred Hansard will miss the remainder of the year following a surgery earlier this week, according to coach James Franklin. Hansard was injured during the first half against Michigan State this past weekend and did not return.

A redshirt freshman, Hansard had seen action in all six games this year registering two tackles. He is one of 33 different players to make their debut this season.

Penn State is already thin at defensive tackle having move offensive lineman CJ Thorpe to that side of the ball for the year. Aside from Thorpe, the Nittany Lions have leaned on Kevin Givens and Robert Windsor, both leading the way in the position group with 17 tackles each.

The Nittany Lions are on the road this weekend at Indiana looking to snap a two-game losing streak. Kick is set for 3:30 EST.
