Penn State Football: DT Transfers Out Of Program As CB Transfers In

With spring practice slowly approaching, Penn State football has a few roster changes in the works. Lions247 first reported the news on Monday.

On the way in, cornerback Jabari Butler who transfers from Abilene Christian out of Texas. Butler hits the scales at 5-foot-11, 180-pounds and originally hails from Bishop Gorman High School in Nevada.

Butler comes to Penn State, giving the Nittany Lions 11 listed cornerbacks on the roster. The 2015 Southland Conference freshman of the Year, Butler registered six interceptions during his freshman season and was an All-Conference selection. In 2016 Butler saw action in six games, starting two.

On the way out, defensive tackle Brenon Thrift. Thrift joined Tyrell Chavis during the last recruiting cycle as one of two JUCO transfers. Thrift didn't see any action during his time at Penn State this past fall.

Thrift leaves the program at 6-foot-3, 290-pound prospect. Prior to Penn State, Thrift began his career at Temple before transferring to Lackawanna College for his sophomore season.
