Penn State Football: Ficken Signs With Jacksonville Jaguars

Sam Ficken's long story has taken yet another turn as the Jacksonville Jaguars announced on Monday that Penn State's former star placekicker has finally found a professional home, rounding out the Jaguars' 90-man roster. The Jaguars did not release the terms of the signing.

Ficken finished his Penn State career with 271 points after a rocky career that saw him go from a kicking percentage below 70% to a senior season of 24-of-29 kicks including the Nittany Lions' overtime winner against Boston College in the Pinstripe Bowl and last second victory over UCF in James Franklin's first game as head coach at Penn State.

Few players at Penn State have seen a career as made-for-the-movies as Ficken. From missing four field goal attempts against Virginia to becoming one of the most consistent players on the roster, Ficken has finally seen all the hard work, long nights and moments of doubt pay off.

Ficken recently worked out at Penn State's Pro Day this spring, kicking for scouts on campus looking for one final shot at the NFL.

And it looks like he may have found that opportunity.
