Penn State Football: James Franklin Bobblehead Night Set For This Week

by on August 24, 2014 9:55 AM

Fans of Penn State and the State College Spikes can get in on the James Franklin bobblehead action this coming Thursday.

The first 1,000 fans at the game against Williamsport will get their own Franklin bobblehead.

The giveaway comes only a few days before the Nittany Lions open the 2014 season in Ireland against UCF.

The bobblehead recreates a popular picture of Coach Franklin taken inside Beaver Stadium on the same day Penn State named him head football coach. He is shown holding a football with a Spikes logo in front of stadium gates that say "Dominate the State."

This is the second year the Spikes have paid homage to Penn State's head football coach. Last year, fans lined up for hours to claim bobbleheads that resembled coach Bill O'Brien.

State College is 39-26 on the year leading the New York Penn League Pinckney Division by 8 games and the third best record in the New York Penn League.
