James Franklin is set to speak to the media at 12:40 today live from Beaver Stadium. Follow along here with updates and bullet points from Franklin's press conference heading into Saturday night's meeting with Rutgers.

-Franklin starts off the press conference by noting Penn State didn't give up a single sack against Buffalo after giving up 10 against Temple. Says that Hackenberg was hit only twice during 60+/- offensive plays. Big stride forward for that unit.

-Franklin says he's happy to see Carl Nassib living up to all the talk Franklin had for him during the preseason and spring.

-Nick Scott (ST), Saquon Barkley (Offense) and Carl Nassib (D) pick up in house honors for the week.

-They're an example of a program that has had a system through a couple of coaches now and they've stuck with it.

-Andrew Nelson is TBD for this weekend at LT after picking up an injury. Franklin expects to see Grant Haley and Brandon Bell back in action. He's hopeful that they both will be back this week. Haley at safety and Bell at linebacker.

-Franklin excited about Jason Cabinda and how good he can be. Also has positive things to say about Troy Reeder's first real impact at linebacker this year.

-Wendy Laurent wasn't 100% the past few weeks but is in a better position to help on the offensive line now. Franklin says that Angelo Mangiro has been a calming presence at center working as the quarterback of the offensive line.

-Von Walker "Is a guy that when he speaks in the locker room or on the practice field everyone listens."

-In terms of players staying out of trouble "It's one of those things that keeps you up at night." Says that's part of the reason why he shows the team examples of mistakes professional, and college athletes have made and how it has impacted them.

- Franklin says that having good players coming into town. Notes that Rutgers' return man Janarion Grant, has 3 return TDs in two games, 337 all-purpose yards last week.

-Franklin thinks that Brandon Polk is Top 5 in terms of speed on the team. Says that there is a difference between testing well and playing well as it pertains to speed. Says that he has great ball skills and that makes you faster as well.

-Franklin wants a punt to have hang time, distance and location. Says you can live with getting two of the three but punting has struggled to even do that. Notes that when a team puts one of their best athletes back to return a punt, that bad punts puts stress on the punt coverage unit.

-Franklin expects to see Rutgers load the box a lot and put a lot of press on the offensive line.

-Nothing new on the rivalry front from Franklin. Says that they're organic and you can't force them. Time and games make that happen.

-Franklin didn't take issue with DaeSean Hamilton's celebration penalty.
