Penn State Football: Jones, Urschel, And Robinson Pick Up All-Big Ten Honors
Defensive tackle DaQuan Jones, offensive lineman John Urschel and receiver Allen Robinson picked up all-Big Ten honors on Monday night's Big Ten all-conference show. All three players were named to the all-Big Ten team by either the media, coaches, or both.
Jones is the 13th different Penn State defensive lineman since 1998 to earn first-team All-Big Ten honors under coach Larry Johnson. During the 2013 season Jones registered 11.5 tackles for a loss and 56 total tackles on the year at the tackle position. Jones also picked up three sacks and recovered one fumble.
On the offensive side of the ball, Robinson was recognized for his outstanding season during which he hauled in some of the biggest catches in recent Penn State history. Overall Robinson was responsible for 1,432 total yards and six touchdowns. The talented junior hauled down a program record 97 catches averaging 119 yards per game.
Jones was selected first team by coaches, Robinson was selected to the first team by both media and coaches for the second straight season.
Urschel was named first team by the coaches at the guard position.
Robinson was also named the Richter-Howard Receiver of the Year for the second straight season.
"I'm going to go home over Christmas break and talk to my family and stay in touch with my coaches," Robinson said on the Big Ten Network of his future. "I don't have a date set but I should have an idea after Christmas break."
