Penn State Football: Justin Fields Headed To Elite 11

by on June 05, 2017 4:30 PM

Penn State will be well-represented at this year' Elite 11 quarterback clinic as five-star prospect Justin Fields was selected, the camp announced on Monday.

A Kennesaw, Ga. native Fields was one of the 25 passers in Los Angeles this past weekend for the opening stage of the Elite 11. He will now take part in the finals at The Opening camp later this June alongside the other finalists. He will join fellow Penn State commits in five-star back Ricky Slade, four-star tight end Zack Kuntz, four-star receiver Justin Shorter at the event in Oregon.

Fields makes it yet another Penn State quarterback commit to attend the prestigious Elite 11 finals. It was soon-to-be Nittany Lion Sean Clifford attending the camp in 2016 with Jake Zembiec attending in 2015 and former Penn State commit Brandon Wimbush in 2014.

Prior to 2013 when Penn State had no quarterback prospects at the camp, it was Christian Hackenberg turning heads in 2012 before arriving on campus.

How Fields does on the field remains to be seen, but his stock has only continued to rise this summer and a showcase with some of the nation's best prospects ought to do little to slow that trend down.
