by on November 08, 2016 8:32 PM

Penn State offensive lineman Brendan Mahon has been admitted to Hershey Medical Center and is in stable condition. An athletics spokesperson confirmed a previous report by the Centre Daily Times on Tuesday night.

Mahon was injured during Penn State's 41-14 win over Iowa this past Saturday but left the field under his own power. It wasn't until Mahon was carted off the sideline early in the first quarter that his still unspecified injury was noticed by those in attendance.

Penn State's policy, headed by coach James Franklin, is to not disclose injuries unless they are season ending. Franklin briefly touched on the position Tuesday at his weekly press conference but didn't offer any insight. A Penn State spokesperson did not offer any additional information when reached Tuesday night.

“Right now, obviously we ended the game with Paris and Chasz," Franklin said on Tuesday. "Right now that’s about all the information I have. As you guys know, I don’t get into a whole lot of specifics anyway. We’re hoping to get some guys back. We’ll see how the week plays out.”
