Penn State Football: Nittany Lions Collect Syracuse Commit Jason Cabinda
Bill O'Brien can celebrate his birthday today along with news that he landed Penn State's third verbal commitment in a week.
Linebacker Jason Cabinda has decided to become a Nittany Lion according to Blue White Illustrated's Ryan Snyder.
Cabinda visited Penn State for the Nittany Lions' game against Michigan. Between the atmosphere and Penn State's linebacking tradition it was too hard not to say yes to O'Brien.
Prior to Cabinda's verbal commitment, he had been verbally committed to Syracuse University. Cabinda marks the third recruit in a week for Penn State and the second to decommit from another school in order to attend Penn State. Running back Johnathan Thomas had been verbally committed to Maryland before switching to Penn State late on Sunday.
Cabinda is a 6-foot-1, 220 pound prospect out of Flemington, New Jersey. Prior to committing to Syracuse and eventually Penn State, Cabinda held offers from over 15 different schools including Temple, Boston College, Maryland, Connecticut, and Navy among others.
Cabinda is the 15th recruit in Penn State's 2014 recruiting class.
