Penn State Football: Nittany Lions Hit Highest Ranking Since 1999

Penn State football may not have played this past weekend but the Nittany Lions moved up to No.2 in the nation in both the AP and Coaches Poll.

The ranking, the highest for the program since 1999, paces the Big Ten. The conference has three teams in the Top 10 with Wisconsin and Ohio State coming in at No.5 and No.6 respectively. Alabama tops out the No.1 spot in both polls.

Penn State moves up in the rankings after Clemson fell on the road to Syracuse on Friday night. The Nittany Lions are set to face Michigan this weekend, the Wolverines checking in at No.19 in the AP Poll and No.15 in the Coaches Poll.

College GameDay will broadcast this weekend from State College. More details about the show will be announced on Monday.

Kick against Michigan is slated for 7:30 on ABC.
