Penn State Football: Nittany Lions Keeping In Tune With Singing Lessons
Penn State football may have started up camp on Monday for the 2014 season but that doesn't mean football is the only thing on the team's plate.
Head coach James Franklin brought in Blue Band Director Dr O. Richard Bundy to help teach the team -- mainly the several dozen or so freshman -- the fight song and alma mater.
"I think this staff probably more so than most staffs that I've been on, we spent a lot of time focused on chemistry and morale," Franklin said at media day earlier this week. "I think chemistry and morale are as important if not more important than the X's and O's and the toughness, but those things are important, as well."
For Bundy this season will mark his last at Penn State. The longtime band director plans to retire at the end of the upcoming academic year. Bundy has directed the Blue Band since 1996.
