Penn State Football: Nittany Lions Land Four-Star Lineman Over Ohio State

Penn State made it 21 verbal commitments for the 2018 recruiting class as Erie product Fredrick Scruggs committed on Friday afternoon. Scruggs chose the Nittany Lions over Ohio State in his final two schools.

At 6-foot-3, 270 pounds, Scruggs is rated the seventh best prospect in PA and 196th best in the nation. He's among the best centers in teh 2018 class but it remains to be seen where he will play while at Penn State.

Scruggs last took an unofficial visit to Penn State in April and chose the Nittany Lions over a host of offers before settling on his final list. He is the fourth offensive line commit for the 2018 class along with Bryce Effner, Antwan Reed and Nana Asiedu.

Penn State's recruiting class is rated the second best in the Big Ten and fourth in the nation.
