Penn State Football: Nittany Lions Land Second Commitment Of Weekend In Barajas
Penn State's recruiting success is turning into a game of MadLibs. Just fill in the blank with a hometown, position, and the day that he committed.
So in that light, James Franklin and his staff picked up their second verbal commitment of the weekend in four-star linebacker Josh Barajas out of Merrillville, Indiana. Barajas made the news public on his twitter account before multiple recruiting outlets officially confirmed the news, Sunday.
"After a long and stressful recruiting process. I'm truly blessed to say I'm committing to Penn State!!" Barajas tweeted. "It's time to takeover baby #WeAre"
The 6-foot-3, 210 pound prospect picked Penn State over 15 other offers, including ones from Ohio Sate, Notre Dame, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
Barajas' verbal commitment is the second of the weekend for Penn State after Franklin and his staff hosted dozens of recruits on Saturday. Offensive lineman Steven Gonzalez added his name to Penn State's growing class of 2015 recruits on Saturday less than 24 hours prior to Barajas. Overall, Franklin and his staff have put together one of the nation's top recruiting classes with 11 verbal commitments, eight of those prospects considered to be at the four-star level.
There is a long way to go between now and National Signing Day, but so far, Franklin's impact at Penn State has been impressive.
