Penn State Football: Nittany Lions Offer Rising Tight End Talent Naseir Upshur
Penn State football has already started to take aim at the 2016 recruiting class as James Franklin and his staff offered rising in-state star Naseir Upshur.
At 6-foot-3, 230 pounds, the Philadelphia native and tight end Upshur has already picked up plenty of interest from major programs. Penn State was the 19th school to offer according to his twitter account.
School such as Wisconsin, West Virginia, Rutgers, Pittsburgh, Michigan, Michigan State, Arizona, and Maryland have offered Penn State's latest recruiting target.
So far Penn State has yet to land a commitment in the 2016 recruiting class which is as expected at this particular juncture. Even so, as Franklin is able to build up steam on the recruiting trail with his impressive 2015 haul, it is only a matter of time before Penn State reels in the first commit of 2016.
While offers are far from an indication of a chance of landing a prospect, Penn State has certainly set its sights high for the 2016 class offering the top prospect at nearly every position so far according to Scout.com. New Jersey talents, running back Kareem Walker, defensive tackle Rashan Gary, and cornerback Jordan Fuller are a few names well within Penn State's recruiting area with offers already.
