Penn State Football: Nittany Lions Set To Host Minnesota For 3:30 Kick

Penn State will host Minnesota for a 3:30 p.m. kick on Oct. 1, the conference announced on Monday morning. The game will air on the Big Ten Network. The Nittany Lions are taking on the Gophers for the first time since 2013.

The game is the first of three straight at home for the Nittany Lions after this weekend's trip to Ann Arbor to take on Michigan.

Penn State is 8-5 all-time against Minnesota. The Gophers claimed a 24-10 victory the last time the teams met in Minneapolis. Minnesota is making its first trip to Beaver Stadium since 2009 when Penn State collected a 20-0 win. In that 2009 contest, Penn State shutout the Gophers, 20-0, led by NaVorro Bowman’s eight tackles and Josh Hull’s interceptions. Offensively, the Nittany Lions’ were led by Daryll Clark’s 287 passing yards and two total touchdowns (one passing, one rushing).

The Nittany Lions are currently 2-1 on the year while the Gophers are 2-0 coming off of wins over Oregon State and Indiana State.

Penn State's games at Indiana and Purdue as well as a home meeting to close at the year against Michigan State are the only remaining contests on the Nittany Lions' schedule yet to have an announced kick time.
