Penn State Football: OT Recruit Brendan Mahon Verbally Commits to Nittany Lions

Penn State picked up its fifth verbal commitment Saturday for its Class of 2013.

Brendan Mahon, a 6-foot-5, 302-pound offensive tackle from Randolph High School in New Jersey, committed to the Nittany Lions during his visit to University Park.

"Yeah, I committed," Mahon said. "I am very excited to be here."

He is rated a four-star prospect by Rivals and the 190th-best player in the country. 

Mahon had scholarship offers from Florida, UCLA, West Virginia, North Carolina, Boston College, Connecticut and Purdue, among several others, according to Scout.com.

Quarterback Christian Hackenberg, Fork Union, Va., 6-foot-4, 215 pounds, four stars

Cornerback Ross Douglas, Avon, Ohio, 5-foot-10, 180 pounds, four stars

Defensive end Garrett Sickels, Little Silver, N.J., 6-foot-4, 225 pounds, four stars

Tight end Adam Breneman, Camp Hill, Pa., 6-foot-5, 220 pounds, five stars

Offensive tackle Brendan Mahon, Randolph, N.J., 6-foot-5, 302 pounds, four stars
