Penn State Football: Players Race, Give Tours And Play Jenga With THON Families

by on February 18, 2017 4:00 PM

Penn State football players entertained more than 20 THON families on a sunny Saturday afternoon at the Lasch Football Building, playing everything from Twister to Jenga and eating ice cream.

"It's awesome," defensive lineman Ryan Bates said after the event. "Sometimes you don't remember how easy you have it. Seeing what those kids go through, you feel lucky."

The weekend of THON is particularly special for Penn State football once again, as offensive tackle Charlie Shuman is dancing at the 46 hour marathon across the street at the Bryce Jordan Center.

"I read an article about what not to say to a dancer," cornerback Grant Haley said with a smile. "Things like telling them what time it is or how tired you are. Kind of obvious stuff but we want to support him."

Take a look at some of the sights and sounds from the afternoon at Lasch.
