Taking part in the National Salute to Veterans Patients program, several Nittany Lion student-athletes visited the James E. Van Zandt Medical Center in Altoona on Thursday, Feb. 14.

Malcom Willis, DaQuan Jones, Stephen Obeng-Agaypong, Brent Smith and John Urschel were the five players who spent well over an hour with the veterans on Thursday. Smith is a former U.S. Marine who served two tours of duty in Iraq.

"It means a lot to share this with these guys," Smith said. "I think it goes to show the type of character these guys have, and I know more guys wanted to come but couldn't because they had class."
