Penn State Football: Sanders and Miller Both Set to Announce NFL Plans in Coming Days

ORLANDO, FLA.- Penn State defensive end Shareef Miller and running back Miles Sanders will wait at least a few days before announcing their future plans. Both players spoke to the media following Penn State's 27-24 loss to Kentucky on Tuesday afternoon.

"It's up in air though now after this loss," Miller said, leaning against the wall outside of Penn State's locker room. Miller had previously suggested during the team's bowl media day that he would wait until after the Citrus Bowl to announce his intentions.

It was expected, although not confirmed, that Miller would declare for the NFL Draft, now eligible having reached the end of his junior season.

Sanders, who also just wrapped up his junior season, was equally curt, saying that he would discuss his options with his family in the coming days.

Both players had fairly productive afternoons against the Wildcats. Miller picked up eight tackles and half a sack. Sanders had 51 yards on 13 carries, including a key 13-yard run on third-and-10 midway through the fourth quarter.

Neither player is projected to go particularly high in the upcoming draft but both are expected to be selected if they do declare. Sanders rushed for 1,274 yards this season while Miller accounted for 41 tackles and 7.5 sacks.

The deadline for underclassmen to declare for the NFL Draft is Jan. 14.
