Penn State Football Set For Noon Clash Against Undefeated Minnesota

by on October 28, 2019 11:52 AM

Penn State will head to Minneapolis to face the No. 13 ranked Minnesota Golden Gophers for an 11 a.m. local kickoff/noon EST on Nov. 9. ABC will broadcast the game and announced the kick time on Monday morning.

LSU and Alabama face each other at 3:30, the day's marquee game, at least nationally.

Penn State is 9-5 all-time against Minnesota, including a 4-3 record in the Twin Cities. This is Penn State’s first visit to Minneapolis since 2013. The last time the Nittany Lions and Golden Gophers met, Saquon Barkley ripped off a 25-yard run in overtime to secure a 29-26 win which kickstarted Penn State's 2016 Big Ten title run. Trace McSorley paced the offense with 335 passing yards, 73 rushing yards and two total touchdowns (1 passing, 1 rushing).

The meeting will be historic regardless of the result as Penn State has faced an 8-0 team while also being 8-0 just once in program history, in 1978 the Nittany Lions knocked off undefeated No. 5 ranked Maryland 27-3. The Nittany Lions would go on to lose to Alabama 14-7 in the Sugar Bowl.
