Penn State Football: Soggy Practice Still A Good One In Franklin's Eyes
The rain never picked up to the level of a downpour, but the moisture and ever present mist was very noticeable as Penn State hit the practice field for the first time since landing in Dublin in a steady drizzle.
Franklin won't say the T-word "Tired" but he knew all too well that Wednesday was about getting the bodies adjusted and ready to go for a full practice on Thursday.
"I thought we got a lot of work done," Franklin said. "I thanked the players for their focus and their attention to detail. I thought we got a lot out of today."
"I'm not going to say it to them but it's been a long day today. We got on that flight last night (in Harrisburg) and 11:30 (p.m.) or whatever it is and we haven't been asleep since we got up, since we landed.''
With the cobwebs at least partially gone, Penn State will get back to full contact on Thursday before taking Friday off on the physical side of things. While the flight over may have felt like forever, Penn State will be out of time before you know it and Saturday's game will be in the books.
The open portion of practice on Wednesday was entirely special teams related. A walk through practice means no kicking, hit, running or returning so it does not make for the most thrilling video.
