by on September 20, 2016 12:45 PM

Penn State linebacker Nyeem Wartman-White will miss the remainder of the 2016 campaign according to coach James Franklin. The fifth year senior missed all of the 2015 season following a knee injury on special teams during Penn State's season opener against Temple.

Once again playing on special teams, Wartman-White was injured in the second quarter against Temple on Saturday during punt coverage, Wartman-White's knee appeared to buckle while away from the play. The linebacker stayed down on the ground before jumping up and jogging off the field.

Penn State played this past weekend's game against Temple without all three starting linebackers. Brandon Bell missed the game while on crutches and Jason Cabinda with his hand in a cast. Franklin did not offer a timeline for either player, including if they would be able to go this weekend on the road against No. 4 Michigan.

Franklin noted on Tuesday that safety Koa Farmer has moved back to linebacker. Sophomores Manny Bowen and Jake Cooper played this past Saturday at linebacker alongside walk-on Brandon Smith who recorded eight tackles against Temple.
